A full address helps the sender and delivery unit understand exactly where the package needs to go. For the Philippines, you should ask the recipient to send the address in writing instead of listening and transcribing the street or city name yourself.

Items should be requested from the recipient

  • Full name of recipient or recipient, with contact person.
  • Phone number in use, with appropriate country code.
  • House number, apartment, floor or building name if available.
  • Street name, residential area and barangay when applicable.
  • City/municipality, province or region and postal code.
  • Essential accessibility instructions: reception desk, available hours, building requirements.

Access notes supplement the address, do not replace it. “Near supermarket” is only useful when the main intersection is clear. If delivered to a company, ask the recipient what department name or internal code should be written on the package.

Look up postal codes from official sources

PHLPost has Zip Code Locator tool. You can compare the address provided by the recipient with the search results, then ask the recipient to confirm. Do not use a common postal code for all addresses in Metro Manila.

If the results do not match, keep the original information and ask again. Don't edit yourself to a similar place name just because you found it on the map. The city name, barangay and postal code need to be viewed together.

Presentation template for consultation submission

Recipient / Contact person: […]Phone: […]Unit, floor, building / house number: […]Street / subdivision: […]Barangay: […]City / municipality: […]Province / region: […]ZIP code: […]Delivery notes: […]

This is an information collection form, not a physical address or a mandatory form of a state agency. You can remove items that are not applicable, but you should not remove the destination identification section just because it seems too long.

Warehouse delivery and home delivery require two confirmations

If receiving at the warehouse, please ask for advice to confirm the correct warehouse, contact information and how to receive. If delivering to your home, provide a separate address to check the delivery range and associated fees. Do not use postal address Gia Phú as the recipient's address without agreeing on the form of delivery.

If recipient changes address after sending

Immediately report the package code, old address and new address to the channel that received the shipment. Ask for feedback on whether the current route can still be changed, what fees there will be, and what information will be updated. Do not automatically conclude that a change via a text message is effective.

Before handing over, send the final address verbatim to the recipient to check once. This helps reduce situations where the same shipment has two versions of the address stored in multiple conversations.
