“Food” is too broad a description to test for international shipping. A package of canned, homemade, and fresh goods may require very different inspection. Let's start with the ingredients and condition of the food.
Record each product according to the actual label
Prepare product name, ingredients, weight per package, quantity, production date/expiry date if any and storage requirements. Take photos of both the original label and the packaging being used. For homemade food, clearly state that there is no commercial label instead of describing it as a pre-packaged product.
Marks ingredients of animal or vegetable origin that require separate testing. Do not use a familiar dish name to replace the ingredient list when the name is not enough to help the handler understand what is inside.
Do not combine processed goods with fresh goods
BOC FDA-DOH Products Document for Personal Use states approval requirements from the appropriate agricultural agency for unprocessed fresh or frozen foods. Therefore, it is not possible to use the condition of one food group to infer that all groups are sent. Source: BOC, Memorandum on FDA-DOH Regulated Products.
Documents and norms need to be rechecked according to the product, purpose and time of submission. This article does not confirm that Gia Phú accepts refrigerated goods or any type of food.
Ask about storage before asking about speed
If the product requires refrigeration, freezing, or a certain temperature range, submit that request now. Do not assume that choosing Air ensures the cold chain. Thermal packaging also does not prove on its own that the entire journey meets the product's storage conditions.
Please ask the receiving unit if the plan is suitable for preservation requirements and what preparations are needed. If there is no confirmation, do not hand it over and expect a short shipping time.
Prepare after item is accepted
- Keeps labels and identification information easy to compare.
- Protect original packaging according to appropriate product instructions.
- Do not let leaky items affect other items.
- Clearly state which products are in each package.
- Save product photos and expiration dates before handover.
Do not vacuum, split or change packaging yourself if doing so will lose essential information or not match the product. Discuss packaging in advance, especially if you plan to collect multiple types in one box.
Lets the recipient know the exact contents of the shipment
Send the final list to the recipient and confirm the recipient can coordinate when documents are needed. If sending for sale, clearly state the business purpose; Do not record as a gift to simplify checking.
Xem invoice information and statements or prepares gifts depending on your needs. Gia Phú needs to check the correct item before confirming service.
